TROY-and rightfully so…The casting of Mia Farrow to Rosemary Woodhouse is a thing of screen legend. Her performance on the weekly PEYTON PLACE exuded the kind of innocent sexuality that was needed for the character and one that turned on Roman himself (he was, as we know, a lover of young flesh). However, it was, more than anything, her fashion modeling that got her the part. As seen in advertisements in magazines like VANITY FARE and WOMENS WORLD, it was Mia’s jet-set chic (often dressed in skin tight Italian cocktail dresses or evening suits) that won her the role. Polanski believed he would start the character off with that look and feel and slowly reverse it throughout the film. He was relentless in making Farrow diet, she lost 15 pound from her already thin frame, and the effect of her slow emmaciation is one of the most unsettling aspects of the film. Like Jack Nicholson in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST, Peter O’Toole in LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, Gregory Peck in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD or Vivien Leigh in GONE WITH THE WIND, could anyone seen anyone other than Mia Farrow in the role of Rosemary?????SHE WAS BORN TO PLAY THIS PART…..
Look at some of the songs from the Musical "13" it is not well known, but the music is AWESOME! You can get sheet music from your main "central" library!

Strat: My mom loves It's a Wonderful Life. When we were kids, it was on NBC (I think) every Christmas Eve (I think). I don't know if they still do that, but four or five years ago, one of my siblings gave my mom the DVD. Talk about the most well-received gift ever. I don't remember which one bought it, but I do remember thinking that person was now going to be mom's favorite. LOL But, my mom very happily drinks her cocoa and watches the movie on Christmas Eve, and reminds us all year long that “Every time a bell rings….”
Movies set in Chicago? Hmmm…. most times, I'm completely unaware of the setting of any movie – unless it's in NYC. So, I'll steal Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Blues Brothers.
Pattie: That is funny! My sons and I went to see The Sixth Sense soon after it was released. The boys got the twist very early on, but were smart enough not to give it away in the theatre. They told me afterward that they just figured he was dead from the time he was shot (“Mo-oooom, think about it… Who survives a gunshot to the heart?”).

Have you thought about "All I've Got" from the musical "Silver's Ghost"? Preview on -> albums -> "Showtrain", and send them an email if you want the sheet music (it worked for me). Drawback … it could be considered too old for a 13 year old. Advantages … it's got bags of character and humour (good for cabaret audition), it's in your vocal range (even with the throat), it's hardly known …
