Bedroom curtain color?
I am an early 30's professional, just bought my first home, and am having the hardest time deciding what color to choose for my bedroom curtains! I really like contemporary / modern / shabby chic style. My room is painted Gray, and one accent wall of dark purple (which is the wall my bed headboard is on.) The wall perpendicular to that is gray, which is the wall that has the windows.
Any ideas on what color? White? Also, what style? I was hoping to get something that would keep light out (to a degree) and am open to doing two curtain layers if that would look best. (i.e. One sheer curtain underneath a thicker curtain.)
Help!
Try Silver and white together? Makes a good combo. Kind of twist them together... like twirl them. It looks like they're mixed 
You could also try, blue & white.

I’m confused…yesterday I received a response from an e-mail I sent to House Beautiful. I had asked if I could purchase additional copies of 500+ Favorite Paint Colors and was told they are all out. They sent copies of the bookezine to subscribers who had moved in the last year, so not every subscriber received a copy.I’m thinking the $7 is for back issues of the monthly magazine, since the bookezine was $9.99.I think we are out of luck. I did send another e-mail to customer service for verification but received no reply today.

Hey Brad, haven't really looked into plant planning, the pain I'm dealing with is plants that block the spray, making it so I need to redesign with different sprinkler heads.
I think the MyHouse concept could certainly be extended to handle paint too. Our homeowner association has a book of approved (exterior) paint colors, so maybe they should post a palette of approved colors.

You did the right thing, got a cheap set to start with. If you like painting with oils, i would suggest buying artist grade paints and keeping your existing (student grade) set for practice or experimenting.

Technically, red and blue are not primary. They are holdovers from Newton (400 years ago) and the true primaries in terms of pigment would be magenta (hot red/berry color) and cyan (greenish blue like the sky).

my suggestions is go into a home improvement store like Lowe's and look through the colour charts and find something close then if you want to make it lighter ad a little white to a cup or a little bit of navy to make it darker then find out how much it would take to cover the whole car and scale it up to the right amount from 1 cup
