shabby chic lighting What is the best way to make furniture (wood) look antique?
How do I go about painting a piece of wood furniture to make it look vintage shabby chic? I'd like to go with a light color, maybe a light blue or green. What is the easiest way for me to do this? I am not an experienced painter, but I'd really like to learn how to do this.

choose the color you like, add a bit of white (look for warm white, you don't want to use blue-white) and a bit of brown (I recommend wenge). Put them together (say 80 g of your color, 10 (or 5) g of white and 10 (or 15) g of brown) and don't mix them completely. Paint a hidden part of your furniture. After a day, smoothly sand the surface with a 000 sandpaper. Then paint with a light cream lacquer.

We ended up compromising by putting our taste of decorations together and they work!
For example, he likes a color and I like a different color! We worked them out by making our colors combine well together, by painting a wall & another wall across the room -the color he likes and then the other wall & one across that I like. Looks really good together, that is both of you need to make a compromise to change the colors a bit to match well together.
Another example on furniture and decorations that we like are different too! Again we try to combine -match them well together for the room then they usually turn out great!
We got some ideas from watching home improvement channels such as HGTV… our favorites are Decorating Cents!
