shabby chic Is it relatively easy to make shabby chic furniture?
I know of a place I can buy furniture. All I would need to do is give it the look. Is that very hard?
The shabby chic furniture I have seen is made from old used furniture. Normally , you paint it white or a soft mint green , teal or pink. Then you get some sandpaper and sand just the edges everyware. Like the top lip , the sides around the drawers and such. Its pretty easy to do. I have redone antiques quite a bit , and I think this will work for you.

how to redecorate a room with shabby chic style?
i always like redecorate my room, and i hate asking my parents to buy all this stuff, so how can i get an affordable shabby chic style bedroom including assecories like boxes and other stuff like that. thanx
I would shop yard sales and garage sales. You'll be able to find furniture very cheap there.
Use your imagination when buying. You can always paint furniture, so color doesn't matter.
If you paint, I suggest a "Crackle" paint. "Crackle" paint is a spray paint that crackles as it dries, so you get a really old look to it.
I think shabby chic are mostly pastels although the painted furniture at Pottery Barn looks shabby chic. Take a look at their website potterybarn.com and enter painted furnitre. Target has a shabby chic brand that you can get ideas from also. You can also go to HGTV.com and get lots of ideas. Good luck……

I got some advice from a really talented artist on creating your own shabby chic furniture. Also some tips on how to paint melamine! But the furniture bit is way more interesting. Photos to show end results!
I think any of the pale shades would be fine for Shabby Chic. Usually the white is distressed, but I've seen ivory as well used in this decor. When I think of Shabby Chic, I think of roses. A pale pink or a true soft pink (not hot pink or bubble-gum pink) would be fine. Pale sky blues or even soft turquoise-y colors should work. I have seen furniture distressed with a cobalt blue underneath, with a little showing through.
You might try Rachel Ashwell's books for specific colors. You could look at magazines and see if the paint colors are given. They sometimes are for make-overs, and DIY projects.
OMG your apartment is soooo cute!!! That kitchen is amazing with the island in the middle! I AM OBSESSED with that lamp/shabby-chic furniture! YAY this is amazing and going to be so fun!!! xxoxooo
