Should I paint my bed to create the white distressed wood 'shabby chic' look? (PICTURES INCLUDED)?
I suppose I have quite a modern style bedroom with a smooth fitted wooden floor and slanted windows (this room was built about 10 years ago). It has pale purple walls. I am bored of my bed, which I've had since I was 5 (I am now 18!) There is no point in me getting a new bed as I am going to uni in just over a year. Would a shabby chic bed look good?

Would it work on the type of wood that my bed is made from? Would it suit the rest of the room from what you can see?
Yes I think it will work. You might have to sand the bed down first if it has finish over it.

I know my bed isn't very nice - that's WHY I want to change it! But I can't get a new one as I can't afford it and I'm moving out in a year anyway, no point...
I think it would be quite hard to do, you would have to sand the bed down, then paint it, then sand it again to get the 'shabby chic' look. If you are moving out in a year I probably wouldn't bother.
