I have tan walls with a white trim. I"m thinking of either black or white slipcover sofa and chairs. Black dining table(rooms are together).
What color and type of window treatment would look best? I"m not a big fan of mini blinds as I think the 1980's would want them back. I"m looking for something a bit chic/contemorpary.

If it were me, I think I would use white for the slipcovers and look at the links below for some contemporary styles. You need to determine what you are trying to accomplish as far as privacy and heat/cooling retention. If you have a spectacular view, go with something to blend into the wall color. If not so good, use a contrast.
Wooden or faux wood blinds would work as well as bamboo or woven shades for your style which would warm up the room. Accessorize with colors from your artwork, rugs and fabric colors.

Well I was just watching an episode of Icarly and it was the episode where they had to find all the newborn baby chicks that got around the house and at the end when they saw the last missing chic behind the elevator window it sounded like Carly said Hell!
