chic Bath My daughter developed red bumps on her cheeks in a matter of hours, pimples or chic?
She is 9. She went to school yesterday morning and there weren't any bumps. I picked her up from school in the evening and she had red bumps on her cheeks. About 5 on each side. They looked very similar to pimples, but they were different (hard to explain what I mean). She was getting in the bath last night and complained of being itchy, but no rash anywhere so I didn't worry about it. This morning the red bumps were still very red around the bump and they had an appearance of a small whitehead (but the stuff was yellowish). I didn't pop them. But I am just unsure if they could be pimples or chickenpox. Anyone have something similar and know what this could be? I can't even take to the doc, because 1) no fever and 2) even if it was chickenpox they can't usually diagnose on days 0-2 (that I do know). Anyway, any ideas would help. At least maybe I could look at some pics and see if there are similarities.

I would visit the doctor anyway, becasue to me it doesn't sound like either. It could be eczema, it's itchy, comes with no fever. The thing is, eczema usually comes in huge batches over small areas. She'd probably have more than five on each cheek. If it spreads, DEFINITELY visit the doctor. Try to make sure she doesn't scratch.

How do you give a baby chicken a bath? How do you take care of them?

Chicks should be placed into a brooder
What the brooder should be like
Lighting- There should be light in the cage. If you have many chicks and are worried that they will peck each other then you can use a red light, which helps avoid this problem.
Food- High quality chick starter or rabbit food (watered down) work for young chicks.
Water- Use a chick water to prevent drowning. To give chicks a boast you can put 1 tablespoon of sugar per gallon of water for the first three days.
Feeding- You can feed them several ways. You can purchase a chick feeder, use an egg carton, or put the food one the bottom of the cage. I sugges the chick feeder because it helps keep the chicks from pooping in their food.
Flooring- Newspaper is to slick and can cause chicks to slip and develop leg problems such as straddle legs. Powdery sawdust can cause chicks to think that it is food and get sick from eating it. Paper towels work great because they have ridges and you can throw them away when they become dirty.
Temperature- 95 degrees lower 5 degrees every week till they get to 75 degrees. If it is warm enough outside then they may be able to live there. If the chicks are near the lamp gathered together they are cold if the chicks are spread far away from heat they are to hot. If the chicks are throughout the cage the temperature is just right.
Stopping pecking- besides, using a red light you can put grass in the cage to distract the birds. Also pecking will also be reduced if the chicks have enough space around feeders and waters.
But pasting- Sometimes you will find that some chicks get pop stuck to the, but area. This needs to be removed otherwise it can block up the chick and they can die. To do this gently pry it off and use some warm water.
Also make sure that there is nothing that the chicks can get trapped or hurt on in the brooder.
Grit- Is used to help the bird digest food. Naturally chickens consume small rocks which do the same thing. If you are going to keep your chicks inside all the time then giving them some grit in their food would be a good idea.
AS FOR CHICKEN BATHING- chicks will clean themselves. You will see them grab a feather or down with their beak and run their beak down it. This is because the chick is using its saliva to clean itself. This is normal. As for bathing that is a good way to kill a chick. Chicks are very weak and do not handle temperature changes well.

The thing about the rocker look is if it isn't done right it can look really cheesy. Hair- I like your hair but you could straighten it and go with a side bang. Keep the color. Clothing- Get some straight or skinny jeans in black, grey and dark blue. These will last you. If you're going to wear graphic tees then don't get like hot pink ones with skulls and hearts. Vintage band tees are the way to go. Leather motorcycle jackets are in right now but get a more modern cropped one. Go for a good brand. Shoes- I think heels look so much better than just sneakers. Even if they're just some black platforms. I cute pair of booties would look great, too. They don't need to be high. They just look more put together than Chucks or Vans. Accessories- The right handbag and jewelry can pull a look together. A statement necklace can make a plain v-neck tee look great. Always have a good black bag. Then get other colors and patterns that you like. Extra Tips- Don't buy into the rocker cliches. No skulls. If you wear a studded belt then get a skinny one and wear it around your waist. Not the old fashion 80's kind. NO HOTOPIC. Stores- Look everywhere but here are some stores I love.

I once saw a documentary of a ladies' high fashion designer - whose name, for the life of me, I can't remember, but whose work I really liked.
I would like to find out who he is/was.
I think he would have been born ~1920. He retired/held his last show either in 200X.
I think he was Italian, may have possibly have been French.
I know that doesn't narrow it down a great deal, but what seemed to be his signature was the sheer elegance of his evening gowns that excentuated feminine curves with taste. His range may have been limited, he certainly didn't seem to be particularly shocking or necessarily innovative, but he obviously excelled in the focus of his work on classic figure hugging long dresses.
A description along the lines of "the master of making a woman feel like a lady" comes to mind.

the "chic" style was origionally started by King Louis XIV in the late 17th century. i can't think of who else might have influenced more chic, maybe Elsa Schiaparelli? or Charles Fredrick Worth, Paul Iribe, Georges Lepape, Erté, or George Barbier? chic French in your opinion, are acrylic nails tacky or chic??
I am graduating in a week or so and am having a pampering package with friends. part of this is acrylic pink and white nails like french manicure, but plastic. I had them when I was a teenager, but am 50/50 now if I want them on or they look tacky. my partner hates them and says tacky and they look artificial. What is your opinion? tacky or sophisticated? i cant make my mind up and dont want to regret it in my pictures.
They can look tacky when you have them done in a cheap salon. This is because the techs are typically unskilled in these salons, and they tend to use the absolute cheapest acrylic products available. So, of course, the end result is usually quite tacky and unnatural looking. A high end salon who has experienced techs using the best quality acrylic products will most often produce a full set of nails that are not tacky looking in the least. But again, this depends on the tech, and the product line she is using. I have seen so-called techs that are employed in some high end salons who do awful looking nails simply because they aren't any good at what they do, and probably really couldn't care anyway what your nails look like. Doing nails is sort of an art form. It takes years of experience, and LOTS of practice to perfect. And many never do perfect the art of doing nails. Not everyone is cut out for the job. The trick is to find a highly skilled tech who has a great deal of experience, and who is highly recommended by others as well. They are out there, you just have to find them. Many - if not most techs at this level do not advertise in the yellow pages. They don't have to. They have enough customers already. But I'll tell you this much. The most talented nail techs in the nail biz will NOT be found working in a salon that charges like $25 or less for a full set. No. This type of tech can, and usually gets about $60 and up for a full set of acrylics. In fact, $75-$80 is quite common. But, the end result is soooo worth it. Compare those nails to what someone had done in a discount salon, and the diifference is like night and day. Its a HUGE difference in the look, the feel, the shape of the nail - everything is better when done by a true nail professional - from the moment you walk in that door and sit at her table, you will notice a big difference in the professionalism of the tech, and the technique she uses will be so much better than that of less skilled techs. A nail pro will NOT ruin your nails by overfiling them. This is so common at discount salons. It happens all the time at these places. But, not with a true nail pro - ever. Overall, just the experience alone of getting your nails done by someone at this level of expertise is well worth the extra cost. It is well justified, and worth every penny. So, to answer your quetstion. yes they CAN look very tacky. But, they look awesome when done by a true nail pro. BTW, I do not understand what you mean when you say 'plastic.' As in 'stick on nails'??? Please explain? Thank you.
