shabby chic rachel ashwell bedding
I have deep maroonish red curtains in my bedroom, and I need ideas for bedding!?
I am IN LOVE with Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic collection, but unfortunately I cannot find any bedding of hers with red in it. My friend had some (I think they were by Rachel Ashwell...) bedding/shams that were floral print, very shabby chic, and the flowers were red and NOT pink. I think there was some gray in it! I would really like something shabby chic/french country for my bedding, and I'd really like for it to go with my dark red curtains. I have a lot of dark red and black (mainly my picture frames) accents but I definitely want something shabby chic for my bed. I have looked everywhere but cannot find anything! Any help would be wonderful.

I am well familiar with Rachel Ashwell's line of home fashions and the color red is not in her product line. But, I do know the look you are after. Country French decor has more vivid colors and is still of the shabby chic look you are after, however, those fabrics are incredibly expensive.
Can you sew or do you know someone who can? I know for a fact that the fabric you are looking for can be found in a fabric store. Particularly in the finer quilting selections where you can find big cabbage roses, peony flowers and the like, all in red. Consider this: get a solid bedspread and then make the pillow shams and perhaps add a boarder of the sham fabric to the bottom of your curtains or make a valance to go over the top of the curtains. Put a pillow of the same fabric on a chair and fabric cover a lampshade as well. You can find an old chair and paint it red or paint a bookcase or night stand red. Just splashes of red here and there will really make the fabric you select pop elsewhere in the room.
