shabby chic bedroom Ikea - massive cheekiness! Don't you agree?
I have an Ikea bedstead which I love - dark brown metal frame which looks antique and goes really well with my 'shabby chic' bedroom. The mattress though is rubbish as it dips down into the middle. I'm single so don't share my bed with anyone but if I did we'd both roll into the middle! I've had this bed and mattress for 4 years. It's a double.
Just bought a new Hypnos mattress in a double size and found it's too small for my bed! Apparently Ikea have their own sizing method so you have to get your mattress from them because other makes won't fit. I have rolled an old duvet into a sausage shape and put this at the foot of my bed under the mattress cover.
Anyone else had this problem with Ikea? Or encountered similar cheekiness from retailers?

Both my kids have Ikea beds, its annoying because we have to buy ALL our bedding from there as well. Its not too bad though, they do pretty funky kids bedding!

I love the idea of recycling. Look at websites that sell (pricy) recycled stuff like rugs and picture frames, then copy what they've made - lots of neat stuff coming out of the Philippines like placemats from coiled up newspapers, purses from old juice boxes...
Also, stenciling is cheap and pretty easy. Check it out!
