We have a small bathroom with marble tile in the shower and floor, antique bronze faucets and shower head, white paneling on the lower half of the wall and distressed white sink and mirror. We are struggling badly with a wall color for the top half of the wall.
A home designer told us silver mist by Benjamin Moore would be perfect, but my wife did not want to do blue. We are going crazy trying to find another color that works (e.g. grey, gold) but nothing else seems to make the room pop.
My wife is trying for a french/shabby chic look and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would probably go with a cream or a pale taupe. If you really want a definite colour then I would go with a very pale muted green.

shabby chic mirror What colour shall I paint my room?
I have black furniture in my bedroom, and I've recently bought a lot of the 'shabby chic' type things to put in my room (to go on my dressing table and walls and a lightshade). At the moment my walls are white, but as most of the things are cream I need to paint it a different colour (not cream). Any ideas? I'm 18 and I love the vintage/chic type look that is on trend right now. I have a big window and one wall is basically a big mirror so I don't need to worry about lighting or it being dark.. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Almost any color will work with the black and cream. One does generally want a bedroom to be relaxing; and blue and green are the most relaxing colors. But don't go with pale, pastel colors because those look too cool and boring. Go with a vibrant, deeper shade, especially as you have so much natural light in the room. A medium, turquoise blue would be nice (see link).
